When Jesus doesn’t answer…
Many times we pray because we have a need that requires God’s attention. It can be because we’re sick, have relational issues/crisis’, financial needs, or whatever. But what happens when it seems like God is not listening to us? It may feel like the words barely get out of your mouth and then hit the floor.

Wanted to shoot you a quick email to let you know what your ministry has done for my daughter A******. Over a year ago I talked her in to coming to one of your meetings and agree to pay her 100.00 as well (the act of a desperate mother) : ) And at that time what you spoke to her I believe she thought it was from God. There has been a change in her or a process of change little by little she is becoming who God made her to be. She has been there a total of 3 times and the last time which was this month March. You spoke things that she knew only God couldve told you. You ministered to her in her most damaged areas and spoke the most encouraging words of life, love, and what a father would speak to her! Her sister and I cried! We still cry going over the things you said, such an answer to prayer!! Such an answer to a very wounded hopeless, dejected young woman who God is ministering his love to and is changing her from the inside out. I am so grateful that there is a ministry as yours available for hurting people! Thank you for your service to the Lord and his people!!!

Luke 18:1-8 – Jesus starts that passage by telling people that men ought to always pray and not lose heart. He then tells the parable of the widow & the unrighteous judge. A couple of things here…is it possible that prayerlessness can lead to hopelessness? Even faithlessness? It’s verse one that grips me…”men ought to always pray and not lose heart”. When we come before the Throne of God, we have His full attention because He loves to hear our voice and see our face (Song of Solomon 2:14). And, because Jesus made the way possible! I believe that’s why it’s important that when we pray, we believe that we are going to have our prayers answered and that we believe that we are going to receive what we believe (Mark 11:22-24)! Next, the widow is an example of what happens if we persevere. IT IS NOT A LACK OF FAITH TO KEEP ASKING! But, we must believe that we are going to receive…
God is not an ATM machine waiting to dispense what we need. He is our loving heavenly Father who created us for relationship with Him! Prayer is not something that should be endured. Rather it’s a lifeline in that we get to communicate with the Creator of the universe and not only spill our hearts out to Him, but for Him to speak to us as well.
