“I was a former rock n roll DJ on Z-92 and CD105.9 in Omaha, NE & used the air name of “Smiling Jay Michaels”. In 1992, I felt the Lord stirring in my heart — it was like the Lord was beginning to start drawing me to Himself. I was hesitant to give my life to Jesus because I was convinced that God would send me to Africa to be a missionary and I did not want to do that! I really liked being a DJ. After wrestling with the Lord for about a month, in February 1993 on a Sunday night at 9:40pm, I drew a line the carpet in the family room of my home and threw my hands in the air in surrender and told the Lord, “Even if you want me to go to Africa, I am stepping off the throne of my life, if You will only come and live in me. I really do believe that You died for me and rose from the dead…my life is yours to do with as You please. I just want to live for You all of my life…” It was at that moment I repented of my sins and surrendered to the Lord Jesus Christ where my life changed radically. Once a prideful, sinful, self-centered man full of selfishness, Jesus changed all of that. The love of God replaced the selfishness and He put a deep love for people in its place. In late 1995 the Lord moved me out of the rock station and by early 1996 the Lord had me at the Christian radio station 100.7 KGBI. I started ministering and preaching in many different churches at that time. When I was a baby believer, the Lord showed me that I would be going to the nations to preach the Gospel. In 1998 I was Ordained and, the birth of His Harvest Ministries occurred. In 1999, I went to Latvia on my first of many overseas ministry assignments. By 2005, the Lord called me completely out of radio (2002-2005 was part-time because of all the traveling and ministering).

So far, I have been to some unreached tribes in northern Ghana, Togo, in West Africa – churches have been planted as a result of those that came to Jesus; there have been crusades in Sierra Leone. Many came to Jesus! Several blind people got their sight, and then there were the three women that were miraculously healed of having lumps on their breasts! They were besides themselves with joy when Jesus healed them! There have also been trips to Kenya East Africa preaching in crusades and holding Pastors/Leadership conferences. I’ve also been to India many times where I have seen the power of God bring many to Himself. As a result, many churches have been birthed & planted there as well. I have also ministered in China, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, South Africa, Amsterdam, and Finland. I minister throughout the US speaking in conferences, holding workshops and seminars. There have been many miracles performed by the Lord – blind eyes have been opened – one woman in Ghana was blind…until the power of God opened her eyes! She screamed when Jesus opened her eyes! Deaf/mutes have been healed, the paralyzed have gotten up and walked…many healings and deliverances have occurred for the glory of God!

I am married to the love of my life, a precious woman named Sherry. We have three children and seven grandchildren. And, one 75lb Golden Retriever who thinks he’s a lap dog!”
